About Us

Scutra opened in 2002 as a cozy 10 table restaurant boasting an eclectic European menu. Since then we have expanded numerous times - Our last was a 45 seat Patio, tripling the size of the restaurant.

Scutra is located in Arlington at 92 Summer Street - at the intersection of Summer Street and Mill Street - exactly one block North of Mass Ave. We have ample parking available: one lot at the restaurant and another directly behind the restaurant on Mill Street, located at the Shattuck’s Ace Hardware- (Park at your own risk). We are conveniently located on the Minute Man Bike Trail.

Our atmosphere is modern, cozy, and fun. The ambiance flows seamlessly with the cuisine. Our menu offers variety with a focus on European fare. Our mission is to meet and exceed your expectations while consistently providing you the best local and imported food possible while matching that with a carefully chosen beverage menu to compliment. In addition, you can now enjoy the warm weather and have a calming dining experience on our patio located on the Minute Man Bike Trail.

Scutra is a Latin word which describes a plate or dish used to eat from. It derives from the Latin word Scutum which means a shield carried by the Roman Legionaries.
